CURRICULUM INTENT STATEMENT
At Malmesbury Park, we believe that the study of a foreign language helps students develop an appreciation of other cultures. Proficiency in a foreign language will enhance our pupils' future career opportunities. We aim to provide the opportunity for students to progress in all four skill areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing while bringing languages alive through a range of interactive and varied lessons. At Malmesbury Park, language lessons incorporate cultural and creative projects, grammar and translation activities, vocabulary learning games as well as activities which develop the four skills to enable students to achieve their potential and become confident, independent young linguists. Our students enjoy working in groups, pairs and independently within the classroom. We encourage a positive learning environment in our classes, whereby students willingly step out of their comfort zone and actively take part in lessons.
Aims:

- They can write at varying lengths, for different purposes and audiences, using the variety of grammatical structures that they have learnt.
- Discover and develop an appreciation of a range of writing in the language studied.
